Empowering Tourism SMEs to Become Regenerative Businesses for Combating Overtourism

RESTORE Purpose
RESTORE empowers tourism entrepreneurs and professionals, especially in Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), to combat overtourism by embracing regenerative business practices that go beyond sustainability and circularity and transform their businesses into regenerative organisations with a net positive effect on society and Earth, while equipping Human Resources (HR) and adult trainers to facilitate this transition.
RESTORE Objectives
- Enable entrepreneurs and professionals of MSEs to become regenerative leaders and acting as the medium of businesses and society’s net positive transformation against overtourism
- Raise awareness of regenerative practices among tourism MSEs and upskill entrepreneurs and professionals to develop and measure regenerative business strategies addressing overtourism
- Equip HR/adult trainers with essential skills to facilitate the professional growth of tourism entrepreneurs and professionals, easing their transition to regenerative business practices, while addressing labor market shortages in green and inclusive skills
- Develop creative learning approaches and solutions that link adult education with businesses by merging innovative regenerative and non-formal digitalized learning methodologies, leading to the validation of qualifications via microcredentials/EU Digital Credentials for Learning
- Assist the participating organisations deliver specialised learning services to tourism MSEs through the adoption of innovative methods that can be replicated across Europe, thereby enhancing their ability for collaboration and collective action against overtourism.
